PIP: Why Can't We Wait for Change?

Change is a part of everyone’s life whether we’d like to admit it or not. Some people naturally react better to it than others. At some point in our lives, we’ve willingly changed it, it can be a small habit that we added or took out of our daily routine, or a tremendous change like switching careers. In either situation it has taken patience.

“Patience is a virtue.” We’ve all heard it but, what is patience? It’s the ability to wait calmly. Abilities like patience can be learned, it’s not something you are born with. We are living in a time when we have a question, we can get an instant answer by searching it up. It has become difficult for us to learn this ability; it’s not our fault. It does become our fault when we don’t acknowledge it. Waiting is only part of it; we have to wait calmly. When we want a career change or are adding a small habit into our daily routine, it takes time but we eventually achieve it. In those instances, we are practicing patience and we don’t realize it. We have to acknowledge that our patience might be selective, we can wait for our coffee to be made but can’t watch a one-minute video. These instances test our patience, but one is out of our control and the other isn’t. We have to add patience to the situations we can control. I’m not saying watch a video you don’t like, but don’t scroll away if it’s a video that doesn’t give you instant gratification; you might learn something new!

Bigger changes like a career change do take more effort and problems might occur along the way. When problems do occur that’s when patience becomes perseverance. They test our reaction and the outcome differs if we react with patience or impatience.

From previous blogs, we’ve learned we all have a business and it’s our life, and we can run a better business with passion, innovation and perseverance (PIP).

PIP IT! Remember the foundation of our PIP Theory:

1.  Passion activates intrinsic motivation, allowing entrepreneurs to pursue ventures aligned with their values and purpose, which is essential for sustaining long-term engagement.

2.  Innovation translates passion into unique value propositions that address real-world problems, allowing the venture to remain competitive and relevant.

3.  Perseverance ensures adaptive learning and grit in the face of setbacks, allowing iterative refinement of products, strategies, and market approaches.
